The models rolling out of the workshop at Alpenstraße 175 were the zippy Beetles from Salzburg. Volkswagen Porsche Austria had chosen this exact loca... The models rolling out of the workshop at Alpenstraße 175 were the zippy Beetles from Salzburg. Volkswagen Porsche Austria had chosen this exact location as the home for their motor sport department. Between 1965 and 1974, the vehicles produced there scored major triumphs – one of these was the Beetle Salzburg. These wins immortalised the car with its striking silver look and the red and white Austria stripe. Squeezing every ounce of power out of its standard Wolfsburg engine, the motor sport engineers managed to furnish the Beetle with snappy 125 horsepower - a true piece of Beetle history captured in WIKING’s miniaturised model.
