It was viewed as the Flensburg all-rounder among vehicles handling small jobs – as nimble as a city weasel. Today, the speed van is considered a transporter legend, because in the post-war years thousands of companies were on their way to the Economic Miracle with the Tempo Matador. Now miniaturised by WIKING in the style of the period, the Flensburg forwarding company “Transit Transport 3111” used the prototype for their day-to-day transport operations. Heinrich Peter Petersen founded the forwarding company at the port of Flensburg in 1947, and a new forwarding facility in the Schleswiger Strasse in Flensburg was opened in 1962. With its basic cab and high-side flatbed, the Tempo Matador thus assumes the role of a “quiet hero” of the Economic Miracle. This version of the Tempo Matador was held in particularly high regard in Flensburg because it was virtually predestined for typical transport tasks.
