New moulds have made it possible – the Volvo F89 has turned into an awe-inspiring Sweden express! WIKING has miniaturised an entirely new chassis, allowing for the popular cab of this modern classic to be used in a road train as well. And, there is, of course, no better way to start off than to adopt a design that sports the beloved ASG colours. More than 40 years after WIKING devoted a first model to Swedish forwarder ASG, the product range now offers yet another modern classic that has been given a classic colour scheme. Especially over the last few years, the WIKING fleet of vehicles modelled after the prototypes of the Swedish logistics company has grown constantly. Attractive models – ranging from container semi-trailers to small transport vans – have come to reflect the plethora of vehicles with which the former all-rounder forwarding company used to operate. With the Volvo F89 and the chassis crafted from new moulds, it has now become possible at last to miniaturise the prototype that used to put its stamp not only on the ASG fleet but also on the Scania road train WIKING unveiled in 1975. One feature that is uniquely characteristic of the Volvo F89 and typically Swedish is the roof sign at the front of the vehicle! The “Aktiebolaget Svenska Godsbilcentraler” company was founded as early as 1935 by the Stockholm Rederi AB Svea company. After collaboration with Danzas was agreed in 1993, ASG was taken over in 1999 by the Swiss company Danzas, which today is owned by Deutsche Post AG.
