This Hanoverian was a début work after the war. The typical bonnet with the striking horizontal grille bars gave the Hanomag L 28 its distinctive face. Staying true to the original, WIKING has designed the speed van with a window grey colour scheme and a purple chassis. Presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1950, the real-life bonnet truck stood out with its wide front plus integrated headlights. Initially engineered for 1.5 ton payloads, subsequent versions were able to handle 3 tons of payload – the diesel engines initially had 50 hp and later delivered 65 hp and 70 hp. As early as 1951, the export share amounted to 47%, and deliveries were made to 48 countries. The best-selling Hanomag diesel model was, of course, the flatbed lorry, which WIKING had already started to focus on at the beginning of the 1950s. Admittedly, this attention was brought about by an industrial order from Hanomag, which gave birth to a still unglazed, yet beautiful 1:50 model.
