A model maker’s sense of history à la WIKING: 2021 is witnessing the second tribute to the years when WIKING first started out by manufacturing both the fledgling series of unglazed models and industrial orders in a larger scale. In this vein, the traditional model makers have miniaturised the Normag Faktor I tractor and have crafted a 1:87 scale model based on the large WIKING original – a true classic that documents the mechanisation of farming business at the time. This young 1:87 tractor relates an authentic story that gives an account of both the original and WIKING’s tradition. 15 HP were supposed to give the prototype enough power at the time to ease the farmer’s daily load – whether the farming business was a full-time job or only a sideline. The new 1:87 model serves as a reminder of this storied past and highlights the quality of the industrial model in whose image it has been shaped. The traditional model makers found it a cinch to use the large sibling model as a tool for their most recent project. The matching proportions and the true-to-the-original engravings make it possible to attain a level of miniaturisation that lives up to the ambitious character shared by all tractor classics. The model makers have given the 1:87 model of the attached twin-steering swing axle complete movability as well. The radiator grille features the signature vent slots, while the air filter is attached on the left. Moreover, the headlamps are inserted and help reproduce the authenticity of the large original in the 1:87 scale.
