All you have to do to identify the portscape of Hamburg is to locate the sideloader adorned with the colours of the Port of Hamburg - the key actor that ensures the success of the container business! It did not take long for the sideloader to conquer the hearts of the WIKING fans after it celebrated its model première. The imposing 1:87 sideloader model is as unusual as the history of its real-life brother. The original was a key player in the long-goods logistics business and was used for loading containers, pipes and construction timber. The feature that made the former original model especially appealing - and even spectacular on the 1:87 scale - to the WIKING head was the lateral orientation of forklift mast and fork. It took nearly five decades for the mould construction to come to fruition. Chassis and glazed cab have, naturally, been modelled precisely after the original. All of the hydraulic movements the former sideloader was able to perform can be imitated.
