It has proven its worth - the inclusion of the annual catalogue in our attractive brand publication. The release of the 2025 WIKING MAGAZINE shares a selection of topics that give an up-close and personal account of the current model innovations, while also focusing on the model chronology and brand history. With the January delivery to the retail trade, the new WIKING magazine is presented in combination with the WIKING catalogue integrated in the middle of the magazine as a complete collection in printed form, representing an exhaustive compendium of all annual brand activities taking place in the great world of small models. The focus lies on the announced product innovations, such as the T2b, which will be available in numerous versions, closing a gap in the “Bulli” chronology to the delight of collectors. The 2025 WIKING MAGAZINE also covers the new Chevrolet Blazer from the seventies and delves into the remarkable Englebert story. After all, the tyre manufacturer was one of the first WIKING customers who commissioned advertising models in the post-war years, which are highly sought after today. The centre piece of this issue is the report on the Museum for Märklin Display Layouts, which opened in the summer of 2024. Display layouts could be found in many toy stores and included “WIKING cars” as one of their integral elements. A look back on the new products unveiled in 1974 and 1975 as well as on the two model years at the turn of the millennium – 1999 and 2000 – illustrates how expansive the type selection was that WIKING offered 50 and 25 years ago. Equally essential in this latest edition are the background information on the forwarder “Hamburger Spedition” and on WIKING’s relaunched Instagram and Facebook pages. The ever-increasing number of digital sales literature has been factored in as well: Yet again, the annual catalogue is made available for download as a stand-alone excerpt and thus, as usual, as an e-paper.No wonder then that the 2024 WIKING Magazine is presented with a fresh new design – Germany’s H0 model car brand with the longest tradition has a lot to report again. After all, this release will celebrate 75 years of model vehicles, as WIKING started their journey into a new area in 1948, the year of Germany's currency reform. At the time, no one could have predicted whether the business idea was to be a model-making dream come true or an economic flop – after all, these were the years of a new dawn and restoration. In any case, courage and a healthy portion of trust in God played a key role in Fritz Peltzer's endeavour to launch his own selection of model vehicles in 1948. In this spirit, the 75th anniversary was commemorated with the unveiling of several production models: the sideloader, which was originally conceived as a mere archetypal model by master model maker Alfred Kedzierski, and new tarps for both the Hanomag Kurier and the VW T2. The WIKING magazine 2024 tells the story the Vidal tipper truck combination with the Büssing 8000 and of its forerunners. It is also presenting a look back on the premium WIKING collectors’ convention, which was held in the Franconian town of Obertrubach. The Model Chronology is portraying a real collector's favourite: The Ackermann furniture box garnered a decades-long reputation as it managed to embody the one-of-a-kind nature of WIKING models right from the beginning of the era of glazed models.
