The massive Meiller skip was the preeminent feature in the appearance of the Kaelble KV 34. The same holds true for the sky blue quarry original that WIKING used for their model upgrade. To this day, the Kaelble is regarded as the giant among construction vehicles. Boasting an excess width of more than 3.40 metres and a length of 7.50 metres, the Kaelble KV 34 exerted nearly 60 tonnes onto the predominantly rough quarry roads when fully loaded. Today, the tipper trailer model of the Backnang construction machinery specialist, which WIKING unveiled in 1968, is considered a classic. Not least because of its status as a giant among the models WIKING released in the late 1960s – albeit on the “approximated 1:90 scale” as requested by Friedrich Peltzer. Construction machinery enthusiasts have taken a particular shine to the Kaelble tipper trailer for a long time, which is not surprising as it has managed to evolve into a genuine WIKING milestone over the last five decades.
