The coachbuilders at Blumhardt knew where the need for their trailers came from. Traditionally, the company had developed by means of products for agricultural requirements. And that is what they stayed true to, even when lorry bodywork and high-volume trailers were being built for long-haul transport. The dung spreaders were therefore a perennial favourite, because long before the start of intensive livestock farming, every farmer looked after his own disposal of animal manure – by means of the tractor’s hydraulic drive, the manure spreader with a rotating worm at the rear ensured the swirling of the load, and a comprehensive, even distribution over the fields.
