WIKING is giving the legendary G-Class a new future as a model with their take on its short wheelbase version! As luck and coincidence would have it, the WIKING archive brought to light the complete design templates used at the time and, as it turns out, not only for the long MB G version launched in 1979 but also for the short version. Yet another example of how WIKING head Friedrich Peltzer always thought one step ahead when it came to expanding his product range with meaningful additions. It seems as if he was also engaged in talks with Mercedes-Benz about an industrial order 40 years ago as the widely familiar G model was presented by WIKING as early as 1980. The time has now finally come for the short wheelbase G model to enter the 1:87 stage at the traditional model makers!
