While the underlying technical construction principle was undeniably exceptional, Henschel's attempt in Kassel to open a new truck chapter with the Bimot ultimately failed. In the end, only a few units of the truck with the power of two engines were sold - the Bimot was to be produced in small quantities in 1950 and 1951. The engine concept had a plausible background, as the Allies had initially limited the output of truck engines to 150 hp, giving rise to the idea of doubling the power plants in an effort to increase the bonnet truck’s chances. WIKING has outfitted the Henschel Bimot with a crane, producing a perfect replica of the service vehicle operated by the Henschel branch.
