It was the VW T1 that accompanied the rebuilding and expansion of the network of roads in Germany. Back then, the double cabs were purchased in droves for the fleets of building yards operating in the service of municipalities, counties, and motorways. Naturally painted in the alert colour pastel orange and upgraded with diagonal warning stripes on the bumpers, they were then dispatched - their platform always holding the equipment they needed for the next call. The split-look design of the vehicle that juxtaposes the cab with the short flatbed is one of the main reasons why the double cabin has remained unmistakable to this day. What is more, the workers at the building yard appreciated the double cabin as a break room that gave them shelter from the elements. WIKING miniaturised the transporter based on real-life originals.
