Wherever the limousine from Cologne with the tell-tale “TS” lettering showed up, everyone alive in the second half of the sixties knew that they were in the presence of the sporty version of the Taunus P5. The standard 6-cylinder with a displacement of 2.0 litres allowed the prototype of this model to roar. The 90 hp purring under its bonnet gave the 20M “TS” a solid foundation for beating out other vehicles on the motorway. When Ford unveiled the Taunus P5 in 1964 and made it available as a two-door or four-door limousine. More well-to-do drivers naturally opted for the large 6-cylinder engine, which was reserved for the 20M. The reunion with a WIKING classic is made special by a contemporary throwback to the charming two-colour design marked by the pearl white body and black roof flowing to the C-column, which ranked among the most popular colour choices of P5 customers at the time. The type designation was a reference to the fifth passenger vehicle project the Cologne auto makers had embarked upon after the war. This Taunus generation rolled off the lines between 1964 and 1967.
