Exquisite drapes with yellow pattern behind the windows, two green ornamental strips draped all around the roof and centre of the vehicle - these are the conservative and contemporary features that define the look of the Borgward camper van B611. Even after its production in Bremen had ceased, the Borgward van offered a host of advantages for travellers in need of a camper van. Compared to the competition, the transporter from Bremen offered an enormous amount of space - especially considering the modest travel requirements of the Economic Miracle age. WIKING miniaturises the VW “Bulli” challenger of the time with great devotion to detail. This is reflected in particular in the well-rounded camper van look created by the continuous row of draped windows. The WIKING model is bringing out the authentic character of this gorgeous Borgward series, which was the last of its kind and concluded a production run from 1957 to 1962. But, the vehicle remained a common sight on German roads for many years after the Borgward era had come to an end. Adorning the centre of the radiator grille, the unmistakable brand rhombus of the former Bremer Autowerke has the look of a Baroque seal that has endured through the ages - an appeal that is also found in the 1:87 miniaturisation.
