It was Munich’s wolf in sheep’s clothing: Lavish, yet sporty, the 2002 gained distinction as a speedy limousine with Bavarian understatement. The addition of the crimson red paint with a rather unobtrusive chrome trim beside the BMW “kidney grille” was sure to afford the driver the pleasure of turning heads on the side of the road. At the close of the 1960s, the BMW 2002 offered everything to those who wished to evoke a dynamic image - the “2000” series was regarded as a perfect combination of athleticism and beauty. WIKING is releasing this classic, which put a once-mighty 100 hp on the road, in the version as produced in the model years of 1968 to 1971. The two-door 1:87 scale model does, of course, have the round rear lights typical at the time and - naturally - comes with the intricate imprint that miniaturises the charming ornamental silver and chrome trim.
