The popular cycle of Swedish themes about the tradition-rich ASG transport company continues to grow: First the sapphire blue Volvo N10 pulled a container semi-trailer into the range, and then WIKING followed that by a true-to-type steel flatbed lorry with a Volvo bonnet. And now there’s a five-axle trailer combination – with great authenticity. The twin-axle bonnet lorry with its three-axle trailer, including swing axles, looks wonderfully contemporary, because it reminds of the 1970s, when the traditional model makers miniaturised the prototype for the first time, so that Swedish model fans too could enjoy models typical of their country. Incidentally, since 1975 WIKING has frequently brought the “ASG” design back, in particular because the striking Swedish design became part of the road traffic scene right across Europe over the decades. After all, the “Aktiebolaget Svenska Godsbilcentraler” (ASG) was founded as early as 1935 by the Stockholmer Rederi AB Svea company. After a cooperation agreement was made with Danzas in 1993, in 1999 ASG was taken over by the Swiss company Danzas, which belongs to Deutsche Post AG.
