The Bosch advertising experts had recognized the basic colour harmony at an early stage when fine red central belts were added as complements to the bright yellow primer. The T2 owes its unrivalled eye-catching visuals to both the bumpers and the glazed area with its captivating contrast, which is carried over beyond the edge of the flatbed. While the flanks of the tarp call attention to the legendary spark plugs with lifelike folds, the rear doors of the crew cab point to the Bosch’s second core competence: car batteries. After 1967, the model of the double cabin was built by VW in Hanover-Stöcken - a success story in and of itself. Eclipsing their dedication to any other automotive brand, WIKING documented the long history of the VW passenger and transporter van on a scale of 1:87 over the course of many decades. And, with each new miniature, the model makers add a new chapter to this storied history.
