Since the launch of the new models for June, WIKING enthusiasts have been able to enjoy the unusual VW Touareg in the colours of the German football champions for 2009. But as far as WIKING is concerned, the success story does not end there: because winning the German championship also means a magnificent parade through the streets, Volkswagen promptly responded and supplied a candy white VW Eos to carry the team through the crowds of celebrating fans in the glorious sunshine. Even VW supervisory board member Ferdinand Piëch sat in the convertible as it made its way through the throng, along with goal-scorer Grafite and head of the VW works committee Bernd Osterloh - in front of a crowd of almost 100,000 onlookers. Coach Felix Magath and the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony Christian Wulff also became a part of Wolfsburg’s footballing history as they travelled in the VW.
