The Illerrieden Voluntary Fire Service knows what the new CompactLine can do. So WIKING created the model to be launched in August and, in doing so, added to the number of attractive emergency vehicles used by the fire service. The aim of the CompactLine from Rosenbauer is to provide a vehicle concept with a sandwich construction, low unladen weight and more useful space. By using a lightweight chassis – WIKING has used the MAN TGL model for its 1:87 model – a compact construction has been created with an easily accessible load space on the roof. One particularly striking feature: three large openings on the vehicle enable easy access to all the equipment. This new emergency service vehicle, which the fire service in Illerrieden has been using since July 2007, marks the new generation of lightweight LF 10/6 fire service vehicles preferred throughout Germany which have replaced the earlier LF 8s in small rural areas on account of their built-in pump and water tank. Rosenbauer, the Austrian fire service vehicle manufacturer, continues to come up with innovative new developments for the market – characterised by their unusual design and detailed solutions fit for purpose.
