For whenever a new Unimog series is launched, it heralds the start of a long era. At the 2009 Nuremberg Toy Fair, WIKING presented the 1:87 model of the Unimog U20 which was already ready for series production. This impressive model became the youngest member of the Unimog family which WIKING has been producing in model form since the start of the 1950s. The U20 is still compact and manoeuvrable on a scale of 1:87. That is quite understandable as the original was designed to be used in cities and municipalities all year round. The WIKING model shows the authentic character of its universal talent. The original U20 looks more compact than the previous generation and yet is still a multi-purpose vehicle and a versatile tool carrier. Thanks to its shorter wheelbase, it is more manoeuvrable than any AWD truck. So the compact cab over engine with perfect all-round visibility also fits impeccably into the new vehicle concept.
